New AIS regulations for pleasure craft and yachts

Starting from April 1, 2026, new regulations concerning AIS and VHF will come into effect for pleasure craft in Flanders. This means that all pleasure boats and yachts must transmit their location and request passage at each lock and movable bridge using AIS and VHF radio, or via the new free app provided by De Vlaamse Waterweg.
