Hull repair and new tube
After 20 years of sailing pleasure, this hull was in need of repair. A crack had formed on the port side of the hull where the tubes are supported. Repairing it with polyester is not possible in this case because the hull must be able to continue to ‘move’. Instead, we attached a custom-made stainless steel plate to stabilize the crack. The plate was painted white so that it would be virtually invisible. In addition, the tube also needed to be replaced. At Zodiac, all tubes have a slide-in system, which makes them very easy and inexpensive to replace. This Zodiac will last for many more years!
